The Kepak Group are looking to recruit the right person for a permanent Quality Assurance Technician McCarren Meats in Cavan. This is an excellent position for a Food Science individual who is looking for an excellent role within a very supportive environment. McCarren Meats Unlimited Company is probably the oldest traditional pig slaughtering, processing and bacon curing company in Ireland
REPORTING TO: Quality Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Carry out product verification checks on production line
· Ensure product is produced to the customer specifications.
· Perform routine traceability product checks
· Investigating and reporting and non-conforming material in production areas
· Prepare export pre-shipment reviews for DAFM
· Specification administration
· Carrying out production inspection on iAuditor platform
· Conducting GMP/Glass and Hard Plastic Audits within production areas
· Partake in any additional projects that will improve the QA area
· Carry out internal audits
· Sample collection and preparation for External laboratory
· Carryout verification checks within the abattoir , boning hall and bacon area.
· Additional ad-hoc duties may be assigned from time to time in line with business needs.

Requirements
- Food Science/Food Technology qualification or related
- Previous experience working in a food environment would be a distinct advantage
- Written and spoken English fluency
- Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office
- Flexibility as this role includes shift work
