MV Specialist Electrical Design Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MV Specialist Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team and play a key role in delivering complex, high-value construction and mission-critical projects.
As the MV Specialist, you will lead all medium voltage (MV) engineering and design activities from concept through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with project teams, clients, consultants, vendors, and supply chain partners, you will ensure the successful delivery of robust, compliant, and fully integrated MV power systems.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically driven engineer who enjoys taking ownership of MV systems across multiple projects, influencing design strategy, solving complex engineering challenges, and contributing to the delivery of world-class infrastructure projects across international markets.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the design, engineering, and technical delivery of MV systems on major construction projects.
- Drive MV engineering activities from design development through procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and client handover.
- Manage technical submittals, design reviews, equipment approvals, and supply chain coordination.
- Carry out advanced power system modelling and studies using industry-leading software such as ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, and CDEGS.
- Review and validate MV system designs, ensuring compliance with project specifications, IEC/IEEE standards, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with BIM, construction, commissioning, and procurement teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and efficient.
- Support complex troubleshooting activities and provide technical leadership across multiple projects and regions.
- Manage specialist vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and successful system commissioning.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, engineering best practices, and company-wide technical standards.
- Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers, helping to develop future engineering talent.

You will have extensive experience in:
- Medium Voltage (MV) Power Distribution Systems
- Load Flow & Short Circuit Studies
- Protection Coordination & Selectivity Studies
- Arc Flash Analysis
- Earthing & Grounding Design
- Harmonic & Power Quality Analysis
- Motor Starting & Transient Stability Studies
- MV Switchgear, Transformers, Protection Relays & Cable Systems
- Electrical Testing, Commissioning & System Validation
- IEC and IEEE Design Standards
What We’re Looking For
- Strong background in MV electrical design and power system engineering.
- Proven experience delivering MV packages on large-scale industrial, pharmaceutical, data centre, or mission-critical projects.
- Proficiency in ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, CDEGS, or equivalent power system analysis software.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead technical design reviews and provide engineering guidance across multidisciplinary teams.
- Passion for engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
