Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for an Electrician on a 2-year Fixed Term Contract. Reporting to the Electricial Foreman, the ideal candidate will be highly motivated self- starter, dependable and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The candidate will have excellent attention to detail and have good communication skills. This position requires flexibility to work shift work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Installing:
- AC/DC motors
- Power and control circuits
- High tension installations
- PLC programming and fault-finding
- Cabling, cable sizing, cable laying and connections.
- Testing and commissioning.
- Working as part of a team and also on your own initiative.
- Training of apprentices and colleagues.
- Adhering to quality control standards and displaying strong attention to detail.
- May include travel abroad to installation sites.
- Diagnose faults in systems and carry out repairs to required standards.
- Carry out detailed root cause analysis on breakdowns to implement corrective repairs and future preventative action.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and testing.
- Use your own initiative, knowledge, and experience.
Qualifications & Competencies
- A qualified electrician with experience in large industrial installations.
- Ability to read electrical drawings is essential.
- Experience in testing and inspection, networking and communications would be an advantage.
- A high level of safe working practices and awareness
- The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is essential
- Good communication skills and strong teamwork capabilities.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment with logical approach to problem solving.
- PLC, CNC, Robotics knowledge would be an advantage.
- Competent in Microsoft technologies.
- Basic knowledge, pneumatic and hydraulic systems preferrable.
- Must be available to work 06:30 – 15:00 / 15:00 – 23:30 Monday to Friday
