The Mechanical Technician be responsible for the execution of preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance task assigned. The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for working primarily on Clean Utilities systems. The Mechanical Technician will grow to be an expert on the assigned systems and be responsible for training the Mechanical Shift Technicians on preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance tasks. The Mechanical Technician will liaise with the Planner, Discipline Leads and the Utilities Maintenance Lead to schedule and supervise contractor works, carrying out PM, PDM & CM activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Completion of assigned PM, PDM & CM activities
  • Attendance at team and client meetings as required
  • Investigating and reporting on equipment performance
  • Monitoring & operation & maintenance of Utility Systems
  • Facilitating subcontractors carrying out work on site, reviewing safety documentation and approving permit to work
  • Partaking in GEMBA walks and housekeeping audits issuing and assuming responsibility for items to be addressed
  • Ensuring that Predictive, Corrective and Preventative Maintenance assigned tasks are completed by your team.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role   

Skills Required:

  • Experience with starting up / running / testing automated Process or Utility Equipment an advantage.
  • Literacy in Computer Operating Systems and applications such as Microsoft, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
  • Experience with a computerised maintenance management system.
  • Possess excellent Communication / Documentation and Interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis an advantage.
  • Good team player.
  • Focused on quality.
  • Ability to follow procedures and generate safe, efficient work practices.

Education / Licenses / Certifications:

  • The successful candidate will have time served qualification with trades experience or a BEng in a relevant Engineering discipline plus a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable
