Senior Network Engineer

Job Description Summary

The Network Engineering team is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Network Engineer to work on the implementation, security, and support of largescale, multisite, and robust multivendor network environments.

This role requires strong handson technical capability combined with sound operational judgment. The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with design, platform, and security teams, contributing to both the delivery of new network solutions and the evolution of existing network architectures to support changing business, technology, and growth requirements.



Major Accountabilities

Manage and implement medium to complex networks in multidomain environments, working with industryleading technologies and platforms.

Work on new network deployments, as well as rearchitecting existing network segments to support new technologies, scalability, resilience, and growth.

Effectively triage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues, acting as an escalation point where required.

Demonstrate strong communication, accountability, and attention to detail, ensuring highquality delivery and operational stability.

Show a clear ability and desire to automate processes and tasks in order to increase efficiency, consistency, and reliability across the network estate.

Participate in planned network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities as required.



Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Industryleading certifications (e.g. Cisco, Check Point, Arista) are desirable but not compulsory.



Knowledge / Experience

5+ years of IT experience in network engineering and operations roles.

Strong skills and handson experience in network automation and scripting, including Python and Ansible.

Experience managing and deploying medium to largescale networks using technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Arista, Fortinet and Check Point.

Strong handson knowledge of network diagnostics and troubleshooting, including BGP, VPN technologies, DMVPN, MPLS, and SDWAN.

Proficiency with Git fundamentals, including commits, branches, merges, and reverts.

Proficiency in Linux fundamentals, including:

Strong understanding of network architecture and modern design trends, including traditional enterprise networking, cloud networking, spineleaf architectures, and segmentation.

Good handson experience with firewalls and network security controls, including policy management and secure segmentation.

Handson experience with Ansiblebased automation tooling, and exposure to modeldriven network automation approaches.

Handson experience with Arista AVD (Arista Validated Designs) is considered a strong plus.


Skills / Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts.

Team player who is equally comfortable as a strong individual contributor.

Able to operate with limited supervision, with work reviewed primarily for direction and strategic alignment.


Working Conditions

May require occasional local or domestic travel.

Should be open to working occasional evenings or weekends to support planned work and critical activities.
