We are currently seeking to recruit an Audit Senior to join our Audit team in Cork to support ongoing growth. This is an opportunity with excellent possibility for career progression, focusing on providing high-quality services to our diverse client base.
The duties of the Audit Senior:
- Working as part of a team in the provision of statutory external audit services to a wide portfolio of clients in various sectors.
- Preparation and completion of client audit files and financial statements from Planning Stage through to Completion Stage for Engagement Manager review. These files will be completed to a high professional standard, within budget and time deadlines, both internal and statutory.
- Drafting financial reports as required by client assignment. Identifying areas of non-compliance with auditing and accounting standards, and bringing these to the attention of the engagement manager.
- Training junior staff in all technical aspects of accounts preparation and auditing, whilst leading them on client assignments.
- Contributing to the development of your own, and the team’s, technical acumen through continuous coaching, mentoring and leading your team on engagements.
- The position will attract additional duties depending on the type of client assignment but will always be of a professional accounting or auditing nature.
- Some travel at certain times may be required, including overnight stays.
Demonstrable Experience and Qualifications Required:
- You will have at least 1 - 2 years post qualification experience in auditing Irish companies.
- Open to candidates with external audit experience who would like to expand on their skillset and take on a new challenge.
- Experience with Credit Union audits an advantage.
- Relevant degree and an ACA, ACCA, or other accounting or relevant qualification.
- Experience with Audit software, e.g. Caseware or an equivalent
- Business acumen and insight to be an effective business advisor to your clients.
- Experience in managing and leading teams effectively.
- Experience in presenting to senior management teams along with excellent report writing skills.
- Experience in operational supervision of assignments and managing client relationships and expectations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and to provide guidance to others.
- Experience of working to deadlines and delivering under pressure when required.
