Position Overview
Due to continued business growth, we are currently recruiting a Civil Structural Engineer to join our Structural Inspection Department. This is a unique opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to work within the expeditious Geospatial industry. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Structural Inspection Department manager and will be based in Ireland.
You will be mentored by a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years of experience in bridge and structure inspection/evaluation and our Operations Manager who is experienced in all the inspection methods and equipment that we provide. The right candidate will aspire to be a Chartered Engineer to lead structural inspections and assessments as well as manage projects.
What You Will Do
- Performing bridge/structural inspections using a variety of technologies and access methods.
- Assisting Project Manager in coordinating inspection programmes and subcontractors.
- Undertaking waterway inspections and surveys using various boats & equipment.
- Opportunities for Rope Access bridge inspection (abseiling).
- Perform underwater inspections using Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV).
- Utilise Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and equipment.
- Handling, processing and interpreting geospatial/inspection data.
- Preparing technical structural inspection reports.
What You Will Bring
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering - BSc in Civil/Structural Engineering or 3+ years equivalent experience
- Fundamental knowledge of the principles and practices of bridge types and loadings.
- Ability to perform detailed field and office inspection work.
- Good writing skills and proficiency in the English language.
- The right to work in Ireland.
- Flexibility to travel nationwide as required by our clients.
- Possess a full clean driving license.
