Job Description

About onsemi

onsemi is a global leader in intelligent power and sensing technologies, enabling electrification and energy efficiency across automotive, industrial, and cloud infrastructure markets. The Cork design center plays a key role in the development of advanced analog and mixed-signal IP that underpins onsemi’s next-generation semiconductor platforms, including the Treo™ platform.

Role Overview

onsemi is seeking a Graduate Analog Design Engineer to join our Cork-based design team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a strong academic foundation in electrical engineering, a passion for analog circuit design, and a curiosity-driven mindset—particularly around the emerging use of AI in engineering workflows.

You will work on the design, simulation, and verification of analog IP blocks used across the onsemi Treo platform. Comprehensive on-the-job training and structured mentoring will be provided to support your technical and professional development.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and development of analog and mixed-signal IP blocks for the Treo platform
  • Perform SPICE-level simulations of basic and intermediate analog circuits (e.g., amplifiers, bias circuits, references)
  • Analyze circuit behavior across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corners
  • Apply a strong understanding of MOS device physics to make informed design trade-offs
  • Support debugging, verification, and documentation of analog designs
  • Collaborate with senior analog designers, layout engineers, and digital teams
  • Explore and adopt AI-assisted tools and techniques to improve productivity, insight, and design quality
  • Continuously learn and grow through mentoring, technical reviews, and hands-on project work

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or a closely related discipline
  • Master’s degree preferred, particularly with a focus on analog, mixed-signal, or semiconductor design
  • Intern-level or equivalent relevant experience in analog or IC design (industry, research, or academic projects)
  • Thorough understanding of MOS device physics, including operation, scaling effects, and variability
  • Hands-on experience running SPICE or SPICE-based simulations (e.g., Spectre, HSPICE, LTspice)
  • Solid understanding of basic digital circuits (e.g., logic gates, flip-flops, timing fundamentals)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Exposure to analog IC design coursework or thesis work
  • Familiarity with CMOS process technologies
  • Basic understanding of layout-aware design concepts
  • A natural curiosity and enthusiasm for using AI in engineering, data analysis, or automation
  • Willingness to ask questions, learn from feedback, and continuously improve
