As a Portfolio Operations Manager in Limerick, Ireland, you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world’s payments ecosystem!
The purpose of the Portfolio Operations Manager is:
Responsible for supporting portfolio planning, execution, and governance to enable predictable, transparent, and well controlled delivery outcomes. This role partners closely with senior leaders, product, technology, and delivery teams to operationalize portfolio processes, maintain governance discipline, and provide actionable visibility into delivery health, capacity, and risk.
This role plays a hands on role in implementing and operating portfolio frameworks, ensuring adherence to agile and ITSM practices, and supporting ACI’s transformation and growth objectives through strong execution and continuous improvement.
A typical day at ACI for a Portfolio Operations Manager is:
Portfolio Planning & Governance
•Support the portfolio operating model, ensuring day to day alignment with defined strategic priorities.
•Coordinate quarterly planning activities, including intake, prioritization support, and capacity validation.
•Maintain portfolio level dashboards and reporting for delivery health, capacity, dependencies, and risk.
•Support governance forums by preparing materials, tracking decisions, and following up on actions.
Execution & Delivery Support
•Provide operational oversight across multiple initiatives or programs to ensure consistent execution.
•Apply discipline to new work intake by validating scope, capacity, and sequencing before commitments are made.
•Ensure consistent application of project and delivery lifecycle practices, tools, and standards (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet).
•Partner with delivery teams to identify execution risks, constraints, and mitigation actions early.
Process & Continuous Improvement
•Help optimize processes for reporting, information flow, and cross team coordination.
•Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve predictability, throughput, and transparency.
•Assist with embedding compliance and control checkpoints into agile delivery workflows.
•Contribute to observability and operational maturity efforts that improve reliability and resilience.
Risk, Compliance & Operational Readiness
•Track and escalate risks and issues across the portfolio, ensuring timely visibility and action
•Support adherence to regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI, FFIEC, ISO 27001) through operational controls.
•Coordinate audits, reviews, and readiness activities as required.
Stakeholder & Team Engagement
•Act as a key point of coordination between delivery teams, product, technology, and leadership.
•Facilitate clear, timely communication of portfolio status, risks, and decisions.
•Support mentoring and development of project and program managers through guidance, standards, and coaching.
•Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and service excellence.
Financial & Vendor Support
•Partner with FP&A to support financial tracking, forecasts, and variance analysis for portfolio initiatives.
•Assist with budget planning, cost tracking, and optimization activities.
•Support vendor management activities, including tracking deliverables and SLA adherence.
•Perform other duties as assigned
•Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience and Experience needed to succeed in this role:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field and/or relevant experience
•Minimum 8+ years of experience in portfolio management, program management, PMO, product operations, or delivery operations within financial services, payments, or enterprise software.
•5+ years of experience supporting portfolio governance, enterprise programs, or operational delivery frameworks.
•Solid working knowledge of agile, ITSM, SDLC, and portfolio/program management practices.
•Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate insights.
•Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and nontechnical audiences.
•Experience working with enterprise delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Confluence, or similar.
Knowledge & Skills
•Understanding of agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and ITIL/ITSM concepts.
•Experience with KPI, SLA, and portfolio health reporting.
•Ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently with attention to detail.
•Problem solving mindset with a bias toward execution and continuous improvement.
•Familiarity with cloud based and enterprise software environments.
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Experience working in agile and DevOps delivery environments.
Preferred knowledge, Skills and Experience and Experience needed to succeed in this role:
•Experience supporting global or cross functional teams.
•Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management and PI planning activities.
•Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance environments in financial services.
•Experience with Power BI or similar reporting/visualization tools.
•Prior experience working with outsourced or vendor delivered services.
•PMP, CAPM, PMIACP, ITIL, or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
