The Grant Thornton FAAS department is a specialist team who primarily services complex large-scale and Multinational Companies (MNCs), focusing on being a centralised point of contact for their global requirements. Our experienced and multicultural teams are experts in areas of Global Compliance and Reporting Solutions (GCRS) and, Flexible People Solutions, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Global Payroll Solutions (GPS) operating through our Centre of Excellence in Ireland. Grant Thornton Global Payroll Solutions team is a group of dedicated experienced payroll professionals who are focused on providing Global Payroll Solutions to our clients.
This role will suit an experienced, motivated payroll professional who is willing and interested in further developing their career in all aspects of Global Payroll Solutions.
You will be working as part of our managed service team with our member firms in the Grant Thornton network to deliver payroll services to small, medium and large multinational companies across the globe.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Co-ordinating the delivery of client payroll processing via our Global Payroll Platform Payzaar, working in conjunction with our member firm payroll teams.
- Manage the resolution of payroll issues utilising the international network of Grant Thornton firms to procure and co-ordinate solutions to client queries.
- Supporting clients in short term project engagements, payroll audits and short-term staff shortages.
- Leading implementation teams to on-board new clients through their payroll transition from a current provider to the Grant Thornton payroll service.
- Managing projects to improve service delivery for our clients via automation & process improvements.
- Onsite and offsite client payroll support with end-to-end processing of domestic and international payrolls
- Recruitment, development and training of junior team members.
- Monitoring KPI’s and adherence to service delivery schedules for clients.
- Billing and client take on administration.
- Managing the firm's responses to RFP's and client proposals.
- Payment validation and approval for a variety of beneficiaries
Managing team resources to support our clients.
Interest in industry trends and updates.
Required essential skills / attributes.
- Payroll qualification (IPASS or industry equivalent)
- Proven track record in a payroll role with an intention to pursue a career in international payroll
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office) including strong excel skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience managing multiple delivery deadlines
- A strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality
- Strong, articulate communication skills
- Customer relationship management
- Ability to learn quickly and keep abreast of developments
- Problem solving skills
- Highly organised and efficient
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience in people management
- Stakeholder management including communication and influencing
Desirable skills / attributes
- Exposure to international and high-volume payrolls
- Knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing including benefits administration, share based remuneration, statutory payroll regulations and payroll journal entries
- Experience in automation projects
- Experience in the recruitment of staff
- Experience in Global Payroll Delivery
- Payzaar experience is a plus.
