Cloud Lead – Datacenter to Cloud Migration
Lead datacenter‑to‑cloud migrations with emphasis on Azure and AWS, global networking, and systems integration—primarily in complex enterprise or M&A environments.
Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Lead with deep experience leading on‑premises to cloud migrations, specialising in Azure and AWS.
This role will be on a 6/12 Month FTC.
This role owns the technical strategy and execution for migrating datacenter workloads to the cloud, including network design, connectivity, security alignment, and integration with enterprise platforms. The Cloud Lead partners closely with infrastructure, security, application, and program teams to ensure migrations are well‑sequenced, resilient, and aligned to broader integration timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end datacenter‑to‑cloud migration efforts from discovery through cutover and stabilisation.
- Design and oversee cloud landing zones in Azure and AWS, including networking, identity, security, and core services.
- Own global cloud networking design (hybrid connectivity, routing, segmentation).
- Drive migration planning and execution for compute, storage, and platform services.
- Coordinate systems and application integration during and post‑migration.
- Partner with Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance, resiliency, and risk mitigation.
- Define migration waves, dependencies, and sequencing aligned to program milestones.
- Support cutover execution and post‑migration hyper‑care.
Required Skills / Experience
- Proven experience leading on‑prem to Azure and AWS migrations.
- Strong background in cloud networking (VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect).
- Experience migrating enterprise datacenter workloads.
- Solid understanding of identity, security, and infrastructure integration.
- Ability to lead complex technical workstreams and work cross‑functionally.
Nice to Have
- M&A or multi‑region enterprise experience.
- Wave‑based or phased migration experience.
- Familiarity with cloud cost optimisation and operational readiness.
