INTRO / JOB SUMMARY 

 

CSC’s Irish-authorised Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM), regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), provides AIFMD-compliant management company solutions to EU and non-EU alternative investment fund managers. The AIFM Investment Management Oversight Manager supports the Designated Person (DP) for Investment Management by overseeing delegated investment management activities across a portfolio of alternative investment funds (AIFs). This role focuses on investment manager due diligence, ongoing monitoring, analysis of investment restrictions and leverage, and high-quality committee/board reporting. You will work closely with investment managers, fund administrators, internal stakeholders, and senior management to ensure robust oversight aligned to the AIF’s objectives, strategy, and regulatory expectations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Review and oversee timely delivery of Investment Manager delegate reporting against agreed service levels; assess reporting for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness and escalate issues to the DP as needed.

  • Perform ongoing oversight and portfolio monitoring for AIFs, including analysis of fund performance, risk indicators, leverage, liquidity, and cash flow metrics.

  • Conduct initial and ongoing monitoring of investment restrictions and key limits (e.g., leverage, liquidity parameters), and support remediation and escalation where required.

  • Coordinate investment manager due diligence, due diligence questionnaires, and collection/review of supporting documentation, policies, and procedures.

  • Support new fund launches and client onboarding by reviewing offering documents and completing due diligence; draft oversight and onboarding memos for AIFM committee and board consideration.

  • Compile and deliver monthly/quarterly oversight reporting packs for the DP, committees, and boards, including clear commentary, exceptions, and proposed actions.

  • Maintain and enhance Investment Management (IM) oversight processes, procedures, and documentation to align with AIFMD/AIFMD II and relevant CBI requirements.

  • Partner with the wider AIFM team on cross-functional deliverables, regulatory-driven initiatives, and ad hoc client needs, including liquidity and cash management oversight tasks.

  • Support project delivery from initiation through completion, helping drive high-quality outcomes and effective stakeholder communication.

  • Contribute to broader AIFM responsibilities as directed by senior management, consistent with the AIFM Programme of Activity and governance framework.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 5+ years of experience in funds, asset management, management company (ManCo), or a related oversight/governance function within the alternatives space.

  • Bachelor’s degree (discipline-flexible); ability to apply strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills in a regulated environment.

  • Working knowledge of the management company/AIFM model, delegation oversight, and service provider governance.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory expectations (e.g., CBI requirements) into practical oversight processes and reporting.

  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines across concurrent deliverables.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing committee/board-ready materials.

  • High integrity and professionalism; able to collaborate effectively while providing appropriate challenge to stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with standard office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfort working with data from fund administrators and investment managers.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Hands-on experience with AIFMD (and familiarity with AIFMD II); UCITS knowledge is an advantage.

  • Third level Degree (open to various backgrounds including Business, Finance, Science, Engineering, Arts & Humanities). 

  • Professional qualification (e.g., CFA IMC, CAIA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or relevant postgraduate study is beneficial but not essential.

  • Familiarity with multiple alternative investment strategies and fund structures (e.g., private equity, private credit, real assets, hedge funds).

  • Experience building or enhancing oversight frameworks, dashboards, or operating procedures for an AIFM/ManCo.

 

CAREER PATH / COMPENSATION

 

  • Career progression may include Investment Management Oversight Manager → Senior Manager AIFM Oversight → Senior leadership within AIFM/ManCo governance.

  • Cross-functional pathways may include roles in Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Operational Due Diligence, Product/Fund Governance, or Client Management within CSC.
