(HX26-093) Senior Occupational Therapist – Older Persons Services
- 0.5 WTE (17.5hours per week)
- Indefinite duration contract
- H.S.E. funded
- Based in Harold’s Cross
The Senior Occupational Therapist (Older Persons) will deliver a high-quality, person-centred, and evidence-based Occupational Therapy service to older adults presenting with frailty, complex comorbidities, and cognitive decline within OLH &CS. The Senior Occupational Therapist will work in conjunction with the Occupational Therapy and Multidisciplinary teams to meet the needs of the service users and the objectives of the Organisation.
Additionally, the successful candidate will provide clinical leadership, drive service development initiatives, and supervise Staff-Grade Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and students to maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence.
* In the context of this job description Older Person Services refers to the services in both Anna Gaynor House, Community Reablement Unit (CRU) and Older Persons Outpatient Services..
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
· Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU or satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91
Experience:
· 3+ years post qualification clinical experience with minimum 1 year in Older Persons Services
Desirable Requirements
Qualifications:
· Membership of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI) and /or equivalent Occupational Therapy professional body
· Membership of a relevant AOTI Advisory Group
· Postgraduate training / qualifications in Older Persons Services
· Full clean driving licence
· Experience:
· Experience in the professional supervision of Staff Grade Occupational Therapists and/or Occupational Therapy Assistants
· Participation in regular standards setting, outcome measurement, clinical audit and research
