Due to continuing expansion, Payslip is looking for a talented and ambitious Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing engineering organization. In this role, you’ll work closely with both DevOps and development teams to design, build, and operate a scalable, secure AWS-based platform that enables reliable and safe software delivery. You’ll help shape the future of our DevOps practices and ensure systems are efficient, highly available, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to drive efficient, scalable system designs and processes,
- Support the evolution of a best-in-class DevOps organization with an “automate everything” mindset
- Promote and implement on-demand AWS services to meet business needs.
- Participate in Agile Scrum teams to take features from design through the full software development lifecycle,
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with QA automation to include automated and security testing,
- Define and implement high-availability deployment strategies with robust monitoring and rollback capabilities,
- Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for all infrastructure provisioning and management,
- Lead incident response and outage resolution, including root cause analysis and post-mortem documentation,
- Configure and improve monitoring and alerting systems to ensure rapid response to critical issues.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Experience: 7+ years in a DevOps engineering role or similar
- AWS Expertise: Strong working knowledge of AWS cloud services, architectures, and best practices is essential.
Core Technical Skills & Technologies:
- Containers & Compute: Docker, ECS (Fargate/EC2), AWS Lambda
- Networking & Edge: VPC design, multi-AZ, Route 53, ALB, CloudFront, WAF
- Data & Messaging: RDS (PostgreSQL), S3, EBS, EFS, SQS, SNS, ElastiCache (Redis)
- Security & IAM: AWS IAM best practices, KMS, encryption, secrets management
- CI/CD & IaC: Terraform (primary), GitLab CI/CD (desirable), AWS SAM
- Observability & Operations: CloudWatch metrics, logs, alarms, incident response
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with fluency in English.
- Strong sense of ownership and commitment to mentorship and knowledge sharing
- A passion for building reliable, scalable, and secure systems
