About The Role:
Reporting to the QC Team Lead, the primary role of the QC Apprentice is to
provide support to the production plant by providing quality testing and delivery results to meet the plants’ needs. The role will be based in the Quality and Environmental services laboratory, where duties will include analysis of raw materials used in the production process, testing of intermediate products, environmental and utilities analysis and testing of final product (spirits and animal feeds). In addition, the role involves projects for the implementation of new or improved testing methods and implementation of continuous improvement in the laboratory
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure all tasks and duties are carried out safely in accordance with the site health and safety policies
- Conducting laboratory analysis according to laboratory procedures and in accordance with Quality standards
- Writing test reports and trending of data where required
- Identifying and communication of incidents and non-conformances when laboratory analysis results and site procedures are not met
- Ensuring a high level of housekeeping and hygiene is maintained
- Write, review and update laboratory procedures and records in accordance with ISO standards
- Research and implementation of new / improved laboratory equipment and test methods
- Participating in process improvement projects and reporting of results
- Implementation of continuous improvement in the laboratory
- Conducting laboratory analysis according to laboratory procedures and in accordance with Quality standards
Essential Skills Required:
- Excellent analytical skills, high level of attention to detail required
- Good organisational skills required to work in a fast-paced production laboratory
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Self-Starter, highly motivated
Working hours: 08:00 to 4:30 Monday to Thursday and 8:00 to 3:30 on Friday.
