Project Manager - Electrical

The project: The role is within the technical design authority for the transmission system. Engineering and asset management is the area that facilitates that role through the development of technical standards and functional specifications for all plants to be connected to the transmission system and the development of new and innovative technologies and methodologies. In addition, the area is responsible for ensuring that requirements are incorporated in project design and construction whether the works are carried out by ESB Networks or by third parties.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Providing advanced technical H&S expertise across the project portfolio.
• Maintaining quality systems and deliver end‑to‑end project programmes.
• Supporting senior leaders with timely, accurate project deliverables.
• Resolving technical queries, review designs and monitor construction compliance.
• Managing commissioning, stakeholder engagement and technical coordination.
• Overseeing budgets, risks and sustainable, value‑driven project outcomes.
• Managing teams collaboratively, driving best practice and continuous improvement.

You’ll need to have:

• Electrical engineering degree with 4-5 years’ substation design and infrastructure project experience.
• Strong technical capability in transmission design, inspections, commissioning and digital delivery.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and ability to lead teams and build client relationships.
• Professional development preferred, with strong commercial, sustainability and energy‑sector project knowledge.
