M&E Site Manager - Kildare

Overview Our OTS (Outsourced Technical Services) Department`are currently seeking to recruit a M&E Site Manager. This role will be bsed on our client sites in Co. Kildare. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities 1. Project Execution & PEC Lead pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and equipment checks for pumps, blowers, aeration systems, sludge handling equipment, valves, and pipework. Coordinate FAT/SAT documentation and ensure all mechanical systems meet design and performance requirements. Oversee installation of mechanical packages such as: Screening and grit removal systems Clarifiers and settlement tanks Mechanical dewatering units Chemical dosing systems HVAC, pipework, and mechanical supports Validate mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and method statements. 2. Site Management Manage day‑to‑day mechanical works on site, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance. Supervise subcontractors and direct labour teams. Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and plant. Liaise with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams to coordinate interfaces. 3. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Enforce site safety protocols, risk assessments, permits to work, and toolbox talks. Identify hazards specific to wastewater treatment (e.g., confined spaces, ammonia/biogas, contaminated water). 4. Quality Assurance Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures. Check mechanical installations against project specifications. Maintain red-line drawings and support handover documentation. 5. Technical & Reporting Produce daily/weekly progress reports. Support troubleshooting and technical problem-solving related to mechanical systems. Liaise with vendors for commissioning support and resolving defects Qualifications Essential Skills & Experience Strong mechanical engineering background. Experience in water/wastewater treatment plants is highly desirable. Practical knowledge of pumps, pipework, rotating equipment, pneumatic systems, and mechanical process equipment. Strong understanding of commissioning procedures. Excellent leadership, communication, and contractor management skills. Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs. Preferred Qualifications Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent. IOSH/NEBOSH certification. Confined Space Training (wastewater-specific). Experience with EPC or D&B projects in water or utilities sectors.
