What you will do
This role will be based within the Finance team of the Shared Services Centre, reporting to the Manager of Accounting. The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of day‑to‑day general accounting activities, including UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP reporting for assigned legal entities. This will include the preparation, review and reconciliation of the general ledger, together with robust review and analysis of entity financial results to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
The role holder will also ensure that intercompany and third‑party invoicing is processed accurately and on a timely basis, in line with established policies and procedures, and will actively monitor the collection of receipts and resolution of outstanding balances. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders to support month‑end close, reporting deadlines and ongoing financial governance.
What you can expect
Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting, working closely with the business and Shared Services Centre colleagues to ensure accurate, robust and timely delivery.
Preparation and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including the processing of monthly and quarterly journal entries within Oracle Financials.
Participation in the annual audit process.
Preparation of management and financial reporting as required.
Preparation and review of intercompany and third‑party invoicing, with responsibility for monitoring the timely collection of receipts and resolution of outstanding balances.
Maintenance and ongoing enhancement of the financial control framework, including documentation and adherence to key processes and controls.
Participation in projects and initiatives aimed at improving financial processes, reporting quality and the overall control environment.
What you will bring
Degree in a relevant discipline.
Professional accounting qualification or part qualified.
Experience of implementing and maintaining a control framework, including documentation of controls.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review data critically, challenge inconsistencies and ensure variances are clearly understood and explained.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.
A strong communicator, able to clearly explain technical and financial matters both verbally and in writing to a range of stakeholders.
A proactive, task‑oriented approach, with confidence to challenge and resolve issues to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with good working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
Experience of US GAAP reporting, with an understanding of the key differences between US GAAP and IFRS, considered an advantage.
