Associate Marketing Communications Manager 

(Internal Position to Rethink Ireland Staff ONLY)    

 

Contract            2 Year Fixed Term Contract, 90-100% FTE 

Salary:                 €40,000 – €47,500 (100%FTE rate) per annum, dependent on experience 

Based:                  Substantially in Dublin or Cork, with regular travel within Ireland.  

Annual Leave:      23 days per annum 

Benefits:              Employer pension contribution. 

Hybrid working: Opportunity to work mainly from home   

 

ROLE PURPOSE  

Reporting to the Marketing Communications Manager, the Associate Marketing Communications Manager will play a key role in contributing to and executing the marketing communications strategy at Rethink Ireland. This position involves overseeing various communications activities, including events, photocalls and public relations campaignsdesigning and executing digital media campaigns, and the creation of branded materials. It also includes a significant leadership component, with responsibilities such as mentoring junior staff, supporting strategic initiatives, and stepping in for the Marketing Communications Manager when necessary.  



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Strategic Communications: Develop and implement marketing communication campaigns for high-profile Rethink Ireland funds, aligning plans with organisational goals and resources. 
  • Content Creation & Speech Writing: Write high-quality content for proposals, reports, speeches, and marketing materials. Support senior management with speech writing that reflects the organisation's tone and key messages. 
  • Public Relations & Media Relations: Manage daily PR activities for high-profile funds, acting as the operational point of contact for media relations and developing processes to streamline interactions with PR agencies. 
  • Digital Media: Oversee digital marketing strategies and ensure they align with the organisation's goals.  
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Support and mentor team members. Lead onboarding processes for new hires in the team and in the wider organisation 
  • Event & Campaign Management: Coordinate events, digital media strategies, and branded materials, ensuring consistency across platforms and formats. 
  • Budget & Report Management: Assist in managing the marketing communications budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, including annual reports and impact assessments. 
  • Capacity planning: Assist the manager in planning capacity within the team.  
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with donors, awardees, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring smooth collaboration and communication. 
  • Second in charge: Step into the Marketing Communications Manager role during absences to maintain continuity of leadership and strategy execution.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, or a related field. 
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing or communications, ideally with some leadership or supervisory experience. 
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to create persuasive and high-quality content. 
  • Proven experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. 
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to mentor other team members. 
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, including social media, content management, and digital analytics. 
  • Experience with design tools such as Canva or InDesign, and CRM systems like Salesforce. 
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Monday, or Asana). 
  • Excellent relationship management skills with donors, awardees, and external suppliers.
