Meet the team
The Legal Office in RTÉ provide an in-house legal service to all parts of the organisation, including commercial litigation, defamation, employment law and so on.
RTÉ Solicitors’ Office is seeking a recent law graduate with legal work experience to join the team in a 12‑month paid position, commencing immediately. This role offers valuable, hands‑on experience within a busy in‑house legal environment supporting a national public service broadcaster.

About the role:
The role will involve providing comprehensive support to the solicitors across a broad range of legal matters, including:
- Assisting solicitors on litigation matters, including managing inter partes correspondence, preparing briefs for counsel and compiling books of pleadings and trial documentation
- Carrying out legal research on ad hoc matters as required, and summarising findings clearly and concisely
- Organising and attending meetings with internal clients, taking accurate notes and ensuring files are updated as required
- Supporting solicitors with administrative tasks, including photocopying, scanning, filing, post and general file management
- Assisting with preparation for, and attendance at, court hearings and trials where required
- Supporting the development and updating of legal training materials on a range of topics relevant to the organisation
- Maintaining key dates, deadlines and diary management for the Solicitors’ Office
- Dealing with routine correspondence and queries in a professional and timely manner
About you:
- A law graduate or soon to be graduate, with relevant legal work experience and a demonstrable interest in Media and Broadcasting Law, Employment Law, Contract Law and Data Protection
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
- Possessing strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team;
- Well organised, detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willing to work on‑site five days per week
