Corporate Compliance & Policy Coordinator - Grade VII (Confined Competition) Vacancy I.D.: 039545 - Corporate Compliance & Policy Coordinator - Grade VII (Confined Competition) Salary: The gross salary applicable to the post is: €60,611 - €78,796 *(* rates effective 01/02/2026) Contract: 2-year Whole-Time Specified Purpose Contract Confined Competition: This is a confined competition limited to the Education and Training Candidate Sector Pool i.e., eligible administration & library staff within  Technological Universities, Institutes of Technology and Education & Training Boards at specific grades. Applicants currently not employed in the Education and Training Candidate Sector Pool are ineligible to apply to this confined competition The University is seeking to enhance and strengthen structures that support Governing Body and its committees and in doing so is seeking to recruit a Grade VII Corporate Compliance & Policy Co-ordinator who will support, and report to, the University Secretary/Vice President Governance (or their nominee). Corporate governance comprises of the systems and procedures by which organisations are directed, controlled and managed. SETU should serve the interests of Government as shareholder, students and all other stakeholders, and pursue value for money in all endeavours, including managing risk appropriately. SETU should act prudently, ethically and with transparency as a public entity and should conduct all activities consistent with statutory responsibilities and in the public interest. Governance requirements arising from the provisions of the Technological Universities Act are statutory obligations and in addition the Governing Body of SETU has approved an Interim Code of Governance.  The Governing Body is accountable for governance and the SETU Executive Management Team are accountable for the proper management of the University. Good governance encourages better informed and longer-term decision-making as well as the efficient use of resources. It strengthens accountability for the stewardship of resources and is characterised by robust scrutiny which places ongoing emphasis on improving public sector performance. Policies set out the principles that underpin decision making and guide the activities of the University. Policies are a key enabler of good governance and help to mitigate risk. This role will be crucial in supporting the key management team in the Office of the University Secretary/Vice President Governance in ensuring and reporting upon effective governance within the University.  Key Responsibilities/Duties include to provide support to the Corporate Compliance and Risk Manager particularly in relation to compliance, policy development, the policy management framework and corporate governance.
