South East Technological University SETU is the provider of a new accredited 5 Year integrated Master of Pharmacy programme and seeks to appoint pharmacology (with physiology) lecturer to the Department of Pharmacy. The SETU MPharm programme is person- and student centred and embeds key domains spanning science and practice, including research, innovation and professional development. The overall objective of this lecturer position is to contribute to the research-led academic delivery of pharmacology related education (including applied and clinical) at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the Department of Pharmacy at our Waterford Campus. The lecturer will contribute their academic, scientific and research skills to the MPharm and other programmes, maintaining PSI accreditation standards. They will also support teaching in the area of physiology within the programme, in systems related and other modules. Within the Faculty of Science and Computing, the lecturer will have access to interdisciplinary research centres and collaborative projects, with opportunities for strong industry and healthcare partnerships.
The position requires a highly motivated and experienced academic who will contribute to the development, implementation, and delivery of pharmacology related education and research, collaborating within a multidisciplinary team within the Department of Pharmacy and with aligned Departments and Faculties. The applicant will also support delivery of physiology themes within the Master of Pharmacy, particularly within integrated systems-based modules. The applicant should place a strong emphasis on advancing therapeutic knowledge, improving patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, addressing societal and Global challenges and building key scientific knowledge.
