36 months Specified Purpose Contract
Salary:
The allowances applicable to this position include: Annual Living Allowance: €51,843.80; Annual Mobility Allowance: €7,658.43; Annual Family Allowance, if applicable: €7,119.10. Tuition Fees to be deducted Annually: €5,750. Note the living allowance amounts are a gross EU contribution to the salary costs of the researcher. The net salary results from deducting all compulsory (employer/employee) social security contributions, as well as direct taxes (e.g. income tax), etc.
Walton Institute is looking to hire a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) – Doctoral Candidate (DC) under project QUESTING – Designing, Managing and Debugging Quantum Networks to address a primary challenge at the cutting edge of the Quantum Internet. The DC will work on determining the methods for the efficient sharing of the same network infrastructure by quantum and classical communications signals. The objective of QUESTING is to develop new methods for quantum networking, fault-tolerant design and resource-efficient hybrid systems by training new generations of Q-System Innovators.

As per the specific eligibility criteria of Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA):
• Applicants must not have lived or done their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Ireland for over 12 months in the last 36 months before the recruitment date.
• The appointee must enroll in a doctoral program leading to a PhD at SETU upon recruitment to the vacancy
