Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Medicine - SL 1 Teaching - (Confined Internal Vacancy) Vacancy I.D.: 039245 - Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Medicine - SL 1 Teaching - (Confined Internal Vacancy) Contract: Permanent Whole-Time Salary: The gross salary scale applicable to the post of Senior Lecturer 1 (Teaching) is €93,798 - €116,118 p.a. (rates effective 01/02/2026). Confined Internal Vacancy Confined to SETU Staff Only SETU welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post: Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Medicine (SL 1). SETU is seeking a highly motivated Senior Academic in Veterinary Medicine with personal drive and ambition, dedicated to making a significant and lasting contribution to animal welfare, our learners, and the veterinary sector, as well as to the development of the University and the furtherance of its core values. The academic will play a key role in the development, implementation, and delivery of veterinary education, research, and professional practice within the Department of Veterinary Medicine. The appointee will report to the Head of Department and Head of Faculty of Science and Computing, and will have a senior role in the academic direction of the MVB programme, including teaching, research, academic assessment, academic administration and professional standards and student support. The appointee will act as an advisor to management in quality assurance issues and will participate in quality assurance and accreditation procedures. The appointee, a registered suitably qualified veterinary surgeon, will have a strong understanding of the full scope of veterinary medicine education and practice with the integration of cutting-edge research and innovation aligned with SETU ethos of research led teaching Application Process: Applications must be made through the online recruitment system on SETU’s Vacancies page on the website. This may include areas such as research, engagement with external agencies/ communities, collaboration with universities, interprofessional and cross discipline collaborations, development of initiatives in teaching and learning etc. Evidence of the professional support that the applicant has provided to colleagues and students.
