Description

Work Flexibility: Onsite

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Build prototypes to engineer-provided prints (drawings, schematics, BOMs, build notes) and follow technical guidelines/work instructions where available.
  • Use standard lab equipment to support build verification and fault-finding as needed, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, LCR meters, power supplies, electronic loads, and signal generators (where applicable).
  • Perform rework/repair and prototype modifications to support iteration (component swaps, jumper wiring, connector changes, repair of damaged pads/tracks where appropriate).
  • Work confidently with small components (fine-pitch parts, small passives, delicate connectors) using appropriate tools (microscope, hot air, etc. where applicable).
  • Read and interpret technical information including complex schematics, pinouts, assembly drawings, and manuals; highlight ambiguities early.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and cross-functional partners to clarify requirements, prioritise builds, and communicate status/blockers.
  • Provide pragmatic prototyping/buildability guidance to design teams when needed (connector selection, wiring approach, assembly sequence, parts availability/substitutions, fixture ideas).
  • Maintain excellent lab discipline and housekeeping (ESD practices, tool control, organised benches, consumables management, safe working).
  • Support and guide Co-ops/Interns on build methods, workmanship expectations, and lab best practice.
