The Role:
The Demand Generation Lead is responsible for designing, building, and running Terminalfour’s demand generation engine for new business.
This role is responsible for ensuring the company consistently creates qualified sales opportunities across priority markets, balancing modern outreach and lead generation best practices with the realities of long-cycle, relationship-driven higher education sales.
We are deliberately building a small, specialist demand generation pod to bring best practice around outreach, content, and data into how we grow new business. This role requires an understanding of long-term, relationship-led selling within higher education, where trust, credibility, and sustained engagement are as important as conversion.
The role also carries responsibility for leading and developing this small Demand Generation pod. We are seeking an individual who embodies a caring, coaching, and encouraging leadership style, and who is driven by building capability in others as well as achieving results. The role is expected to introduce new tools, techniques, and ways of working that continuously improve our market engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Design, set up, and lead a new, small multi disciplinary Demand Generation pod aligned to Terminalfour’s growth priorities
Define roles, processes, and ways of working, embedding best practice in outreach, lead generation, and data driven decision making
Build and execute a scalable demand generation strategy focused on expert personalised email outreach, content driven engagement, events, and webinars
Lead, coach, and develop the Demand Generation pod in line with Terminalfour’s caring, collaborative, and encouraging culture
Introduce, evaluate, and embed new tools, techniques, and platforms to continuously improve outreach effectiveness and efficiency
Own outbound and inbound messaging, ensuring communications are credible, relevant, and appropriate for Higher Education audiences
Drive consistent pipeline creation and healthy market coverage across priority regions, balancing proactive outbound activity with effective conversion of inbound demand
Skills, experience & personal attributes required
Proven experience building or leading demand generation or outbound sales functions in B2B SaaS
Strong understanding of expert email outreach, content led engagement, and account based approaches
Experience selling into Higher Education or similarly complex, relationship driven sectors with long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders
Strong written communication skills with a clear focus on quality, relevance, and credibility
Data literate, with experience using CRM, sales engagement, and data/analytics tools to drive insight and improvement
Experience introducing new tools, improving processes, and evolving ways of working within a sales or marketing environment
Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands on execution, moving comfortably between planning and delivery
Caring, coaching, and people first leadership style with a strong focus on developing others
Structured, organised, and commercially minded, with a clear understanding of return on investment
Curious, experimental, and improvement focused, with a collaborative and low ego approach
