Location: Remote – Europe
Career Band: 9

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll do work that truly matters. Every day, our teams enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer—supporting breakthroughs in science, protecting the environment, ensuring food safety, and helping to find cures for cancer. We invest in our people with the resources, support, and opportunities needed to grow meaningful careers while making a global impact.

The Role

The Senior Industry Director is a senior commercial leader responsible for owning and expanding Thermo Fisher Scientific’s most strategic biopharma relationships across Europe and globally. Operating at the enterprise level, this role shapes and executes long-term account strategies, builds C-suite partnerships, and delivers sustained commercial growth.

The role requires exceptional commercial acumen, with a proven track record of leading complex global bids, delivering high-impact value propositions, and closing strategic agreements. The successful candidate will position Thermo Fisher as a trusted partner across R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain, translating customer strategy into measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead a portfolio of global and regional strategic biopharma accounts, with full accountability for revenue growth, profitability, and relationship depth

• Serve as the primary executive interface, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across procurement, R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain

• Develop and execute multi-year, enterprise-level account strategies aligned to customer priorities and Thermo Fisher’s value proposition

• Lead and win complex, high-value global bids (RFPs/RFIs), shaping commercial strategy from early engagement through to contract execution

• Develop and deliver compelling, executive-level value propositions and presentations, clearly articulating business impact beyond price

• Own pricing strategy, deal structuring, and margin optimisation, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth

• Lead senior-level negotiations, navigating complex, multi-stakeholder decision-making processes

• Drive share-of-wallet expansion, new business development, and portfolio growth across global accounts

• Align and orchestrate cross-functional teams across Europe, North America, and other regions to ensure consistent strategy execution

• Influence and lead within a matrix organisation, driving alignment without direct authority

• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to deliver integrated account strategies and business outcomes

• Conduct executive-level business reviews and support robust forecasting and planning processes

• Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively drive continuous improvement in partnership performance

• Evaluate contract performance and compliance, implementing corrective actions where needed

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred

• 12–15+ years of commercial leadership experience within biopharma, life sciences, or complex B2B environments

• Proven track record managing and growing enterprise-level, multi-country strategic accounts

• Demonstrated success leading and winning complex global bids and tenders

• Strong experience delivering executive-level value-based presentations that influence strategic decisions

• Clear evidence of commercial success, including revenue growth, margin expansion, and strategic deal conversion

• Deep understanding of the biopharma value chain (R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement)

• Strong financial acumen, negotiation, and project management skills

• Advanced capability in operating within a matrix environment and influencing without direct authority

• High level of confidence and credibility operating at senior executive level

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; CRM experience preferred
