Post Status:
3 Year Fixed-Term Contract
The purpose of the role is to deliver a defined programme of HR governance, control and service improvement work, including the implementation of an overpayments policy, strengthened internal controls, revised processes and a new HR ticketing system. The post is fixed term because it has been created to deliver specific project-based improvements within a defined timeframe, and the contract will end once this programme of work and the associated system and framework enhancements have been completed.

About the role:
This newly established role within Human Resources is responsible for strengthening governance, controls, and end-to-end process design across key HR services. The postholder will take ownership of the policy development, controls, and audit framework relating to salary overpayments and underpayments, working cross-functionally with HR Payroll, Employee Services, and the Financial Services Division to establish consistent, transparent, and sustainable processes across the University. In parallel, the role will support the strategic development of the HR Service Centre through service design review, process standardisation, and digital workflow initiatives, with a focus on governance, audit readiness, and new starter lifecycle processes.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Minimum University level 8 degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience in HR.
At least 5 years’ experience in HR operational management with a strong understanding of HR processes and procedures.
Demonstrated success in re-engineering customer-focused HR/business processes.
Experience of setting, monitoring and achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Experience in HR compliance and internal controls, specifically in the management of overpayments and underpayments.
Experience leading and participating in HR projects, with a record of successful implementation.
Proficiency in working with HR systems; knowledge of CoreHR is advantageous.
Salary:
This appointment will be made on the
Administration 1 (Points 1 - 3) salary scale (€70,942- €91,774 per annum)
in line with current Government pay policy.
Hours of Post
: 35 hours per week
