Thrive: Trinity College Dublin's Strategic Plan 2025 - 2030) Post Summary- The Book of Kells and Old Library receive approximately one million visitors per year. The new Book of Kells Experience opened in January 2024 and includes both the Old Library and a new digital exhibition. The person(s) appointed will be part of a team of Library Guards. They will work in a very busy environment, capable of the physical demands of patrolling the Book of Kells Experience which includes the Old Library building, the digital exhibition space and the providing security for the gift shop and the library’s collections. They also assist in building evacuations and other health and safety matters, when necessary. . Post status: Specific Purpose Contract: The specific purpose of this employment is to facilitate the extension of the opening hours in The Book of Kells Experience during the peak time as there is a need for more Library Guards to work across the operation to facilitate these extending opening hours, including evening shifts. Hours of Post: 39 hours per week Salary: This appointment will be made on the Library Guard merged scale (€1355.20 -€1525.31 per fortnight) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales.
