Post ID: 038934 Post Summary The School of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Strategic Programmes Director who will be pivotal in advancing the mission, vision, culture, and strategic objectives of the School of Medicine. This role will lead, coordinate, and deliver four major strategic initiatives essential to enhancing the school’s long-term competitiveness and national leadership within the context of university priorities. The Strategic Programmes Director will foster an innovative environment that supports sustainable growth and excellence while attracting significant funding to further these initiatives. The initiatives include the expansion of the International Clinical Fellowship Programme in collaboration with the Bahrain Government, the development of the Graduate Entry Medical School (GEMS) to respond to the evolving landscape of medical education, the Land, Food & Medicine Sustainability Programme that integrates interdisciplinary approaches to health and food systems, and the Artificial Intelligence in Health Programme that leverages emerging technologies to transform healthcare delivery. Reporting Structure The Strategic Programmes Director will report directly to the Head of School and the school Executive. This role requires extensive coordination among academic, clinical, administrative, and external partners, including healthcare providers, industry leaders, government agencies, and other university schools. Post status: Specific Purpose Contract The specific purpose of this post is to work on strategic projects - initiatives include the expansion of the International Clinical Fellowship Programme; the development of the Graduate Entry Medical School (GEMS); the Land, Food & Medicine Sustainability Programme; and the Artificial Intelligence in Health Programme that leverages emerging technologies to transform healthcare delivery. Hours of Post: 35 hours per week Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 (Points 1-6), Salary Scale (€69,545 - €110,118 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales .
