Position Summary
Applications are invited for the position of Post-Doctoral Researcher in Collective Social Futures, University College Cork. This is a part-time position at 0.8FTE. The appointee will work on the GreenInCities project, funded by Horizon Europe. This aims to build a new co-creative and collaborative approach for planning urban climate regeneration and Nature-based Solutions in disadvantaged areas through the development of innovative co-analysis, co-design, and co-monitoring tools and methodologies for engaging with the community, stakeholders, and decision-makers. The appointee will work as part of a research team which comprises of Dr. Martin Galvin in the Office of Vice-President for Research and Innovation and Dr. Siobhan O’Sullivan in the School of Applied Social Studies. As well as working as part of a team the successful appointee will be expected to demonstrate a capacity to work on their own initiative, will have an excellent knowledge of evaluation and research methods, and have the skills set to work on writing, reporting, and publishing.
Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI’s. This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher. Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEI
