Description

Further Vacancy Details Post-Doctoral Researcher Sustainability Institute/School of BEES 4 Years, Fixed Term, whole-time Post The Sustainability Institute/School of BEES are now recruiting for a Post-Doctoral Researcher to work on the project ‘ The spatial and population ecology of white-tailed eagles since their reintroduction to Ireland’. A total of 245 white-tailed eagle chicks have been reintroduced to Ireland since 2007 and there is now an established breeding population of about 15 pairs. All reintroduced birds have been satellite or wing tagged to follow their movement and survival. The aim of this project is to investigate these extensive, unique datasets to help understand the population dynamics, population viability, and the movement ecology of this reintroduced population. The focus is to analyze existing data, though there could be an opportunity to drive further fieldwork if a clear need is identified. Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI’s.  This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher.  Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEI Researcher Career Development Framework | Irish Universities Association Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process. Project Title: The spatial and population ecology of white-tailed eagles since their reintroduction to Ireland Post Duration: 4 Years, Whole-Time Post For an information package including full details of the post, selection criteria and application process see https://ore.ucc.ie/ The University, at its discretion, may undertake to make an additional appointment(s) from this competition following the conclusion of the process. Informal enquiries can be made in confidence to John Quinn, Professor in Zoology,
