Further Vacancy Details Research Assistant APC Microbiome Ireland 12 Months, Specific Purpose Full-Time Post Position Summary We are currently recruiting for a research assistant in the Microbiota-Brain-Gut Axis Spoke led by Prof. John Cryan, with APC Microbiome Ireland, which addresses the communication between the brain and the gut, and how it can be influenced by the gastrointestinal microbiota. This role will support interventional research investigating the relationship between habitual dietary intake, the gastrointestinal microbiota, and cognitive function in healthy adults. The successful candidate will contribute to multidisciplinary experimental research activities including behavioural phenotyping, biological sample processing, molecular laboratory analyses, and data management. The position is particularly suited to candidates with strong experience in preclinical biomedical research, including rodent handling, dosing procedures, behavioural testing, colony management, and molecular laboratory techniques. Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant will play a key role in study implementation, experimental data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings while ensuring compliance with Directive 2010/63/EU and S.I. No. 543 of 2012. The role requires excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment.
