Chief Technical Officer, Biomedical Facility, Specified purpose post covering leave (estimated duration: approx. 6 months) Applications are invited for a specified purpose post of a Chief Technical Officer within  Biomedical Facility. UCD Biomedical Facility (BMF) requires a Chief Technical Officer 1 (CTO1). The successful candidate will have at least five years’ experience in running a laboratory animal care and use program as well as five or more years of supervisory experience, ideally within an academic environment. The BMF is a service provider to UCD’s medical and scientific research community. The CTO1 is responsible for management of the animal resource programme, including the oversight of transgenic breeding programs and the day-to-day functioning of the facility. They are line manager for technical staff within the BMF and additionally provide a primary point of contact for researchers. The successful applicant will also input to the university’s Animal Research Ethics Committee and Animal Welfare Body. 95 Chief Technical Officer_2013 (2010) Salary Scale: €72,816 - €82,274 per annum [Pts. 1 to 6] Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 11/03/2026.
