Head of Research IT, UCD IT Services, Permanent (with 12 month panel) Applications are invited for a  permanent post of a Head of Research IT within UCD IT Services. We are seeking a Head of Research IT with specific expertise in Linux HPC who will be responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of Research IT services for UCD in line with the UCD Strategy to 2030 - Breaking Boundariesand the Research with Ambition strategic initiative. The postholder will be responsible for driving the development of policy, procedures, guidance, resources, workshops, and support for the use of these technologies. Reporting to the Director of Customer and Academic Services or their nominee, the postholder will be responsible for a substantial programme of work, comprising multiple major projects and service strands and will also have responsibility for IT Planning and Budgeting for the Research IT support and project team. The individual will be a strategic thinker, with proven senior operational expertise and strong leadership skills, with a capacity to understand the challenges and nuances of a University environment and an ability to exploit opportunities that can be leveraged by technology. They will possess strong people management and leadership skills. In addition to their role as Head of Research IT, the Head of Research IT will form part of the senior leadership team in Customer and Academic Services, providing input to the establishment of the long-term strategic direction of the group, and ensuring alignment with the objectives of IT Services and of the University as a whole. 95 Snr Administrative Iii_2013 (2010 ) Salary: €92,195 - €130,201 per annum.
