Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Lecturer / Assistant Professor in Ancient Greek Literature within School of Classics.
The School of Classics seeks to appoint a permanent Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Ancient Greek Literature. All areas of research specialisation within the broad field of ancient Greek literature will be considered, but applicants focusing on epic or drama are especially welcome. The School is home to three subjects within the BA degree – Greek and Roman Civilisation, Greek, Latin – and contributes to three BA Humanities degree programmes: Classics, Art History and Archaeology; Classics, English and History; Languages, Linguistics and Cultures. An MA in Classics is offered, along with MLitt and PhD degrees. The UCD Classical Museum holds the largest collection of Classical antiquities on display in Ireland and is embedded in the School’s teaching, research and outreach activities. Access Classics is the School’s award-winning outreach programme. UCD is Ireland’s largest university and is located near to Dublin’s city centre. It is ranked in the global top 50 for sustainability and is one of Europe’s leading research-intensive universities.
95 Lecturer / Assistant Professor (above the bar)_2010 Salary Scale: €64,753 - €102,539 per annum.
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
