UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2, Civil Engineering, Fixed until 31st December 2026
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within Civil Engineering
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a full-time fixed-term position until 31st December 2026 as a Postdoctoral Researcher in textiles with Dr Daniel McCrum and Dr Kevin Roche.
This project was funded by the SFI-Defence Organisation Innovation Challenge call, and is in collaboration with the Irish Dept. of Defence and Defence Forces. The Modular Adaptable SHelter (MASH) project will develop rapidly deployable shelters that will meet the operational needs of the Irish Defence Forces and also create a temporary emergency housing solution through the alternative use of existing shelter concepts with innovative design for manufacture and assembly, modern methods of construction and design for disassembly construction techniques. MASH will significantly impact on defence forces mobility and responsiveness, as well as providing safe, comfortable and durable temporary accommodation.
PD1 Salary: €46,305 - €52,863 per annum
PD2 Salary €54,307 - €59,063 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

If you have already completed your PD1 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD1, or you are an external applicant whose total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 4 years, you should not apply and should refer to PD2 posts instead.

The PD2 post is intended for researchers that have completed PD1. As with the PD1, if you have already completed your PD2 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD2, or your total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 6 years, you should not apply and should refer to Research Fellow posts instead.
