UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1: Location-based platform work, UCD School of Information and Communication Studies, Temporary 36 months
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1: Location-based platform work within UCD School of Information and Communication Studies.
This is an academic research role, building on your prior experience as a doctoral researcher, where you will conduct a specified programme of research investigating the labour experiences of people earning livelihoods from location-based platform work (i.e.. delivery, carework, home help..).
This research is an element of the ERC funded LivePlatforms project, working under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator and as part of a research team. LivePlatforms will investigate the experiences of people earning incomes within the platform economy - location-based workers such as delivery riders, online creators such as influencers, online workers such as clickworkers, and platform traders such as second-hand clothing sellers - in order to identify and critically evaluate the various actors involved in shaping this work and livelihoods within it. The project will involve a team of researchers based in UCD researching the national Irish context, initially using biographical interview methods.
