Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow role in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated researcher to contribute to the advancement of
patient-specific computational modelling of skin growth
for applications in breast reconstruction. The successful candidate will lead the development of
high-fidelity finite element models
to investigate surface wave propagation in soft biological tissues, forming the foundation for subsequent
statistical and machine learning frameworks
that integrate experimental and computational datasets.
The overarching objective of this work is to establish
predictive, patient-specific models
capable of forecasting clinical outcomes in breast reconstruction, thereby contributing to the broader goal of personalizing reconstructive surgical planning.
PD1 Salary: €46,305 - €52,863 per annum
PD2 Salary: €54,307 - €59,063 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

As with the PD1, if you have already completed your PD2 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD2, or your total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 6 years, you should not apply and should refer to Research Fellow posts instead.
