UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1, UCD School of Biosystems & Food Engineering, 48 months Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Biosystems & Food Engineering. University College Dublin is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and independent Postdoctoral Researcher to join a large, multi-disciplinary research programme addressing key challenges at the interface of food systems, sustainability, and bioeconomy innovation. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for leading life cycle assessment (LCA) and sustainability evaluation activities within the programme. This will include the design and delivery of comprehensive ex-ante and ex-post environmental assessments of bio-based production systems, covering the full lifecycle from feedstock sourcing and processing through to product distribution and end use. The role will involve the application of internationally recognised standards and frameworks (e.g. ISO 14044 and relevant bio-based product assessment methodologies) to quantify environmental impacts such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy use, land occupation, acidification, and eutrophication. PD1 Salary: €46,805 - €50,670 Per Annum Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 12 March 2026.
