We're excited to share that we are looking for an Associate Director of Business Strategy - Payment Integrity to join our Payment Integrity Business Operations team working in either the Dublin or Letterkenny office.

 

This position will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of clinically informed strategies to drive growth across the Waste and Error Physician suite of products. As an Associate Director, you will support the expansion of the clinical portfolio to new products across exiting and new vendors, ensuring alignment with UHC's PI Waste & Error strategy and broader enterprise goals.

As Associate Director of Business Strategy, we will look to you to partner across Optum, vendors and enterprise stakeholders to deliver consistent provider experiences, reduce fragmentation and enable data-driven clinical strategies that unlock new capabilities and support sustainable growth.

 

Data-driven programme management is key for this position, as you will be responsible for developing new strategies and monitoring their performance post deployment. Collaboration will come naturally to you as you will partner with Legal, Compliance, UCS, Claims Operations and other enterprise stakeholders to co-develop and implement joint clinical initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine clinically grounded strategies for the Facility suite of products, leveraging deep coding expertise
  • Support the expansion of the clinical portfolio to new vendors, ensuring alignment with UHC PI's Waste & Error (W&E) strategy and enterprise goals
  • Support the operational build and deployment of new clinical programs, ensuring readiness and adherence to strategic objectives
  • Monitor performance metrics across the portfolio, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions.
  • Understanding of core claim processing systems

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in the health insurance business, including knowledge of industry terminology, and regulatory guidelines
  • Demonstrated familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards related to coding and clinical documentation
  • Proven exposure or understanding of clinical coding, audit strategy or medical documentation review
  • Demonstrated effective communicator with the ability to present ideas, influence stakeholders, and write clearly; skilled in executive-level communication, conceptual thinking, and driving change through innovative approaches
  • Proven program management background and the ability to lead in a matrixed environment
  • Proven experience interpreting and performing analysis on complex datasets
