The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for identifying business improvement opportunities, driving operational efficiencies, and supporting Payment Integrity initiatives through rigorous research, data analysis, and issue resolution. This role requires deep familiarity with medical policies, reimbursement methodologies, CMS guidelines, and coding requirements. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, research-driven, and experienced in resolving root-cause issues that have Legal, Regulatory, or Member Impact considerations.

Primary Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Research
- Identify business improvement opportunities to drive process optimization and operational efficiency
- Conduct in-depth research using CMS.gov, medical policies, reimbursement guidelines, and industry coding requirements
- Analyze data trends to identify root causes and recommend sustainable solutions
Payment Integrity & Claims Investigation
- Utilize data and other tools to investigate and resolve issues
- Review, interpret, and apply regulatory and reimbursement policies in the evaluation of complex claim issues
- Perform required maintenance and updates to ACE Smart Edits based on findings and research outcomes
Issue Resolution & Operational Support
- Submit requests for provider education based on issue outcomes and policy clarifications
- Identify barriers or process gaps that may delay resolution and escalate concerns appropriately
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and privacy standards throughout issue analysis and remediation activities
Relationship Management
- Build, foster, and maintain solid relationships with internal partners and clients who have upstream or downstream impacts to business operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to communicate insights, share findings, and align on remediation strategies

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Proven experience working in healthcare with knowledge of industry terminology and regulatory guidelines
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word (templates and correspondence), Excel (sorting, filtering, tables), and Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Proven ability to work full-time during standard business hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM local time)
Soft Skills:
- Demonstrated excellent collaboration and active listening skills
- Proven solid communication, analytical, and problem solving abilities
- Proven ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts and processes
- Demonstrated effective presentation and professional writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in issue resolution
- Proven experience within Payment Integrity
- Proven project or program management experience
- Background in Regulatory, Payment Policy, CMS Guidelines or HIPAA compliance
