Logistics Coordinator

Location: Leixlip, Co. Kildare

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm

Overview of the role; 


The Logistics Coordinator reports directly to the Site Logistics Manager and Site Manager at the Intel facility in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. The primary focus of this role is managing and coordinating the shipping of hazardous waste materials from the Intel site to designated treatment and disposal facilities across Ireland and Europe.


Day to Day of the role; 


  • Shipment Documentation: Prepare and verify all required shipment documentation, including Dangerous Goods (DG) Notes, Trans Frontier Shipment (TFS) forms, and Waste Transfer Forms (WTFs).
  • Customs Clearance: Process customs clearance for all UK-bound shipments prior to departure from site.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Book and coordinate waste transport collections through approved Veolia subcontractors.
  • Facility Scheduling: Schedule and book hazardous waste streams into designated treatment and disposal facilities throughout Europe.
  • Loading & Collection Schedules: Coordinate loading schedules and collection times with the Site Logistics Manager.
  • Tanker Forecasts: Issue weekly tanker forecasts to ensure smooth site logistics and operational capacity.
  • System & Data Management: Input and maintain operational data accurately across Veolia IT and database systems.
  • TFS Tracking & Compliance: Actively track, record, and maintain TFS applications and usage across all active waste streams.
  • TFS Renewals: Participate actively in the TFS renewal application process.
  • Operational Support: Provide operational cover at short notice during staff shortages in other related site areas.

Requirements for the role; 


Essential Criteria:


  • IT Skills: High level of computing and IT proficiency.
  • Coordination: Strong organisational and logistical coordination skills, with the ability to manage and switch between multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining quality.
  • Documentation Knowledge: Practical working knowledge of Trans Frontier Shipment (TFS) paperwork.
  • Waste Tracking Knowledge: Practical working knowledge of Waste Transfer Form (WTF) paperwork.
  • Key Attributes: Excellent attention to detail, strong Google Sheets and logistical coordination skills, sound decision making abilities, the capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment, and the initiative to work independently.

Desirable Criteria:


  • Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) training.
  • ADR training (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road).
  • Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) qualification.
