Location:  Village Vets Coolock

Reports to: Lead Vet

Schedule: 5 day week, 1 in 3 Saturdays, 1 in 12 Sundays in Ashbourne.

Salary:  €44,000 - €64,000 annually, depending on experience.

About the Role

  • Diagnose, treat, and care for patients to the high standards upheld by Village Vets.

  • Investigate and manage cases thoroughly within the practice before referral, based on patient needs.

  • Take full responsibility for patient care, including effective case handover and appropriate after‑hours or referral care.

  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical records.

  • Prescribe and dispense medications safely and correctly, supporting stock management as needed.

  • Communicate clearly with clients, providing estimates and treatment options to support informed decision‑making.

  • Deliver an outstanding client experience across all communication channels.

  • Promote Pet Health Plans and Pet Insurance to support optimal patient care.

  • Work collaboratively with the clinic team to ensure compassionate, high‑quality care.

  • Provide veterinary training and guidance to support best practice across the team.

  • Support the daily running and presentation of the clinic to Village Vets’ standards.

  • Ensure all billing is accurate and correctly processed.

About You

  • Have 3+ years’ experience in small animal practice

  • VCI Registration

  • Be confident in consultations, routine surgery, and case management

  • Demonstrate strong clinical skills with a proactive and motivated approach

  • Thrive in a team-focused environment and enjoy contributing to shared learning

  • Be committed to delivering exceptional patient care and client service

  • Have a genuine interest in continuous professional development
