NDT Operations Manager

About the Role

Metlab, part of the WH Scott Group, is seeking an experienced and technically strong NDT Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Cork facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring efficient service delivery, maintaining high-quality standards, and supporting business growth through excellent customer service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of NDT operations in Cork
• Oversee and take responsibility for all NDT testing activities
• Review, authorise, and sign off on all test reports
• Ensure all staff are appropriately trained and competent
• Manage handling, packaging, and preservation processes
• Receive, process, and approve requests, quotes, and orders
• Act as a key point of communication with customers regarding contracts and services
• Compile, review, approve, and issue test reports for witnessed work
• Support and participate in internal and external audits
• Ensure all equipment is calibrated, maintained, and fit for service
• Drive operations in a cost-effective, customer-focused manner, while maintaining quality and HSE standards

Requirements

Training & Certification

• PCN Level II NDT Practitioner (essential)
• Third-level qualification (advantageous)

Experience & Technical Knowledge

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the NDT field
• Strong knowledge of NDT testing and welding standards, including EN, ASME, and other relevant codes and specifications
• Proven ability to manage operations and deliver results in a technical environment
