We are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 500 MW of IT load in flight.
We are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking an Authorised Person to join our team. This role will be site based in Sandviken.
Responsibilities
- Engage from early project stages with the Site Management team to establish and implement the project Electrical Safe System of Work (ESSoW) under the direction of the Lead Appointed Person.
- Act as a key duty holder for electrical safety on site, ensuring all personnel understand and comply with the Electrical Safe Systems of Work and project HV/LV safety rules.
- Issue, manage, and control electrical permits to work (PTW) for energised and high-risk activities within the scope of works.
- Review project specifications, drawings, schematics, SLDs, and technical documentation to extract project-specific safety, operational, and commissioning requirements.
- Apply and enforce strict operational procedures in accordance with High Voltage Safety Rules and project-specific safety documentation.
- Prepare and complete safety documentation including RAMS, switching schedules, isolation procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and energisation plans.
- Review switchgear distribution topology, protection schemes, interlocking, and control philosophies prior to energisation.
- Support and coordinate with specialist Testing & Commissioning contractors to develop commissioning strategies, sequences, and test scripts.
- Liaise with vendors BMS / EPMS / SCADA / EMS providers to ensure systems are configured for safe operation, monitoring, and controlled handover.
- Support and manage the safe start-up and energisation of MV/LV systems in accordance with the approved Electrical Safe System of Work.
- Witness SAT, pre-energisation, and post-energisation testing activities, ensuring all results are documented and compliant with project and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all tagging, system walkdowns, and verification activities are completed and formally signed off by relevant stakeholders before energisation equipment.
- Verify that all test instruments used on site are appropriate, available, and fully calibrated.
- Provide technical input into switching plans, isolation procedures, and system energisation strategies.
- Work closely with project, construction, and commissioning teams to safely integrate partial system energisation in live environments.
- Promote a strong electrical safety culture across site, acting as a role model for best practice
Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Certifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering OR Electrical Trade qualification with substantial relevant experience.
- Formal Authorised Person (AP) certification (HV/LV) from a recognised training provider.
- Demonstrable experience operating under an Electrical Safety Rules system (LV/MV/HV).
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar AP / Electrical Safety / Energisation role.
- Proven experience on mission-critical projects such as Data Centres, Pharma, Industrial, or Critical Infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with MV/LV systems, energisation, switching, isolation, and live system management.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Electrical Testing & Verification.
- Experience working within live environments and managing partial energisation of systems.
- Experience coordinating with specialist contractors for commissioning and energisation activities.
Technical Competence
- Strong understanding of electrical protection principles (short circuit, overload, earth fault, discrimination studies).
- Excellent knowledge of earthing systems and configurations.
- Strong understanding of switchgear systems, busbar/busway systems, interlocking, and alternative power sources.
- Experience reviewing FAT/SAT documentation for LV/MV switchgear systems.
- Understanding of switchgear forms of separation and type testing requirements.
- Strong knowledge of control systems (BMS, EPMS, SCADA, EMS).
- Ability to produce and execute LV/MV switching plans.
- Strong understanding of control philosophies and system operational logic.
- Excellent ability to interpret drawings, SLDs, schematics, cable schedules, and technical data sheets.
