About the Role

ALS Environmental Division operates a modern, NATA accredited, laboratory in Smithfield (Sydney) that is equipped with the latest analytical technology and partners with national and regional clients.

An opportunity has become available to appoint and welcome a Quality Assistant joining a close-knit team that strives to exceed internal and external client expectations.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and undertaking method audits and equipment calibration checks according to ALS Procedures. This position also includes assisting with monitoring quality control and the resolution of issues within the Laboratory.  

This full-time permanent opportunity will be Monday to Friday, 7AM to 3:15PM.

The Day-to-Day

  • Monitoring and maintaining Equipment calibration schedule.

  • Perform internal equipment calibration checks. Record them and maintain in the
    system.

  • Perform monthly contamination checks as per quality procedures. Record them and
    maintain them in the quality system.

  • Perform container checks as per quality procedures. Record them and maintain them
    in the quality system.

  • Assisting in monitoring, maintaining the records of temperature recording data loggers’ system, training records, Reagents checks, chemical logs and quality work instructions update implementations them in the quality system.

  • Assisting with monitoring the laboratories performance in proficiency test studies.

  • Conduct internal method or procedure audits and prepare audit reports.

The Essentials

  • Strong attention to details and accuracy.

  • Lab experience preferred.

  • Happy to undertake a variety of tasks including laboratory work and administration.

  • Strong time management and ability to use a variety of computer systems and tools.

  • Effective communication – verbal and written.

  • Team player but also has the ability to work independently after training.
