Senior Software Engineer - OpenShift Virtualization DevOps
Description
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the KubeVirt project and its open-source CI. In this role, you will join the local experts for continuous integration (CI) and DevOps productivity tools. You'll interact with them and with developers and with quality engineering (QE) teams, working with the latest technologies in the market today like Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Prow, Jenkins, Podman/Docker, Python, bash and GoLang.
What will you do?
Manage and maintain the test infrastructure and hardware to ensure seamless operations.
Drive CI and CD-related projects and communities using Prow, Kubernetes, Tekton, OpenShift CI and Jenkins
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues proactively to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Create and share release plans in alignment with stakeholders.
Coordinate hardware requirements and ensure proper resource allocation.
Collaborate with component teams to review and refine test jobs for relevance across release streams.
Maintain automated test jobs to ensure quality assurance best practices.
Maintain high-quality standards and support the team’s CI/CD initiatives.

What will you bring?:
Hands-on experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, container technologies, and orchestration workflows.
Demonstrated expertise in managing infrastructure and hardware in Cloud and On-Prem environments.
Strong proficiency with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and test management tooling.
5+years of experience developing software, solid coding/scripting capabilities and experience building automated workflows.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with engineering, QE, and product stakeholders.
Ability to coordinate effectively with component teams to meet release objectives.
Strong ownership mindset, proactive troubleshooting skills, and accountability for results.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver consistently against deadlines.
