The Red Hat Software Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated student who can join us in the Ireland office and who wants to gain hands-on experience with open source and Red Hat products.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid, full-time internship based at the respective RH offices (Cork, Waterford, Dublin), with flexible working hours. The expected start date is June 2026.
What you will do:
Develop and implement features for AI/ML model training using KFT (Kubeflow Trainer)
Deploy AI/ML models on OpenShift AI (RHOAI), ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Work with upstream AI/ML communities to evaluate new AI/ML-related technologies from partners and create examples of integrations between their technology and RHOAI
Build multi product demos and AI/ML workflows
What you will bring:
You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us full time from June till September/December 2026
Working knowledge of written and spoken English
Experience in development in Python or Go
Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for managing the AI/ML lifecycle in production environments.
Interest in learning new technologies; problem-solving skills.
The following are considered a plus:
Knowledge of containers and OpenShift or Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Previous code contributions to or participation in open source projects or code samples on GitHub.
Understanding of fundamental AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and techniques.
Basic knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
Knowledge of AI frameworks and libraries (e.g. OpenDataHub, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kueue, KubeRay, KubeFlow, CodeFlare, Feast etc)
