Red Hat AI Platform is seeking an intern to join our engineering team. This is an extraordinary opportunity to contribute to the development of the Red Hat AI Platform family of products while participating  in open source communities such as Kubeflow, Trusty AI, and Kserve, and be at the forefront of the exciting evolution of AI. Red Hat AI Platform delivers a robust set of technologies for Data Scientists and MLops personas such as model development, model serving, data pipelines, Kubeflow components, and Kubernetes operator development and is expanding into other areas at a high pace.   By leveraging the combined strength of open source tools, and the recent developments in AI and hybrid cloud, we deliver unmatched value to our partners and customers. This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to gain experience and understanding of the Kubernetes MLOps lifecycle.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid, full-time internship based at the respective RH offices (Cork, Waterford, Dublin), with flexible working hours. The expected start date is June 2026.

What you will do:

  • Contributing Red Hat AI Platform, and provide input that elevates the platform and  user experience

  • Developing  new platform technologies and solutions for Red Hat AI Platform

  • Use CI/CD best practices to develop and deliver solutions

  • Utilizing  AI tools in order to create solutions for the product

  • Deploy AI/ML models on OpenShift AI (RHOAI), ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

What you will bring:

  • You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us full time from June till September/December 2026

  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

The following are considered a plus: 

  • Understanding of fundamental AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and techniques

  • Previous code contributions to or participation in open source projects or code samples on GitHub. 

  • Basic knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.

  • Knowledge of AI frameworks  and libraries (e.g. OpenDataHub, TensorFlow

  • Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) infrastructure

  • Experience programming in Go
